Beautiful Verona!!!

I finally dragged out the camera.  I have been so busy, I haven't stopped to take pictures of what I have been up to.  I have finished a few bee blocks, a baby quilt, and I have joined Tracy's Treasure boxes quilt along.

This is such a wonderful pattern.  It is so easy to follow and it goes together quickly.  I will definitely make another one of these.  I used Verona by Riley Blake.  This fabric is gorgeous!

Isn't this block Fantastic!?!?!?!?!?  Colby asked for us to make this for her month in our Beejeebers bee.  I had some issues with the back ground fabric getting distorted, but it came together in the end.  This is going to be an awesome quilt.  Can't wait to see it!

I forgot to take a picture of the baby quilt that I made, but the co-worker that commissioned the quilt said that she would take some pictures for me this weekend when she saw Baby Jack.  Can't wait to see him with his new quilt.

Now to go to bed..... I have a lot to do tomorrow!

All moved in and sewing again!!!

We moved into our new house about a month ago.  The house is almost completely unpacked and put together.  For some reason, my sewing room seemed to be the on the bottom of the priority list, but that all changed about a week ago!!!!  I have been able to sew a few Beejeebers bee blocks.  Here are a few pics of my work.

This is the block that Karen chose for her Beejeebers May block.  She asked for beach colors in blues, aquas, greens, and grays.  It turned out really cute.  I think the pattern is called orange slice.

This is the block that Beeps picked out for her June Beejeeber's block.  It is the mod mosaic block by Elizabeth Hartman.  Beeps also picked beachy colors.

For the July Beejeeber's block, Laura chose a scrappy log cabin block.  She asked that we use bright colors.  I love the gold fish in the middle block.  It is Caleb Gray's pet park.  It is so cute!!!

I wasn't really diggin' my first attempt, so I made another one.  This time I used Riley Blake's puppy park for the center of this one.

Isn't he so adorable???

I also used some Farm Fresh.  Love those cute barn yard animals.

Next month is my month in the Beejeeber's quilting bee.  I have already chosen the block that I want everyone to make.  I can't wait to share.  Hope everyone has a wonderful week.  Stay cool!!!

I promise I am still alive!!!

We are currently in the process of buying our first house.  It is soooo stressful, but so worth it!  If all goes well, we close on May 22nd and move the following weekend.

I have been a little busy with my crafting, although not as much as I would like.  Here are a few projects that I have been working on:

My Granny Squares Top is finished.  I love the scrappy Fandango border.  I am still trying to decide how I want to quilt this thing!!!  It will have to wait until after the move.

April Beejeebers Block for Melissa.  She is making a Big Truck quilt for her dad.  I asked her to tell me something about her dad so that I could add a personal touch to the block.  She told me that when they were smaller, her dad drove a truck in Canada.  I have never made a maple leaf block (much less one this small) but I think that it turned out okay .

The first of the Garden Fences quilt blocks that I have made for my niece Hadley.  I am using Riley Blake's Indian Summer and it is take your breathe away beautiful!  You can find the tutorial for this block here!

This is the stack that will become my little sister's birthday quilt.  Terra was the recipient of my very first quilt, a rag quilt that I made about three years ago.  I told her that I was going to make her a real bound quilt for her birthday (which was in March, BTW)!  My plan is to make her a plus quilt using this tutorial.  I think it will complement twenty fat quarters I picked out for her quilt.  They are my fav.  Love the bunting print!

That is all of the pictures I have for now.  My goal this week is to finish the truck block.  I only need to tack down the wheels and add a step at the door.  Melissa is going to kill me... the block has looked like this for about three weeks now.  My other to-do for the week is to start and finish Karen's block for the Beejeebers Bee.  She is making a quilt using the block orange window.  I think that this one will be straight forward and easy (if I could ever get started).

That is all I have for now, like that isn't enough ;)  I will try to post at the end of the week to give an update on the bee blocks I have to finish and then the Janome is getting packed away until we move :(

If you made it this far, you must be bored awesome!!!  I also noticed the other day that I now have 15 followers!!!  I am going to have a giveaway to celebrate so come back this weekend.  In the meantime, tell me which type of goodies you like to receive:  fabric yardage, precuts, or notions.  Have a great week!

I'm Back!!!!

WARNING....PICTURE OVERLOAD!!!!!

I am back from spring break.  We had a blast!!!  We didn't go far (Memphis), but it was so nice to get away.  I think we did every thing you can do in Memphis.  I thought I would give everyone a look into my world for a brief moment.  It was raining so much the first day that we were there, I never took the camera out of the car :(  We went to the Pink Palace Museum (which is really, really cool BTW) and later that night, once the rain dried up, we took the boys to play putt putt and ride go karts.  They had a ball!

This is Joshua with Forest.  The kids got a paper doll to color and cut out.  We were supposed to take pictures with Forest to show the class where he went on Spring Break.

My favorite picture from the Memphis Zoo.

This is Joshua in front of the spot that Martin Luther King, Jr was shot.  Joshua is my brainchild and ever since Black History Month, he has been infatuated with MLK.  He was showing his sad face.

Trying to get a cute picture of the boys and little man was trying to cheese it up!

 That's better!

My favorite picture from the trip by far.  This is a RARE moment.  They never hug or act sweet!!!

We went to Sun Studios.  This is where Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, and others got there start.  It was a really cool tour.

This is a TERRIBLE picture of me, but I didn't get many good pictures of me with my boys and this was probably the best one.

The boys standing at Elvis's microphone!

Joshua trying to break it down for us.  He is such a ham!!!!

Joshua and I both hamming it up at Hard Rock Cafe.
Gibson guitar factory.  My oldest, Jacob, and Tom both play guitar.  This was a real treat for all of us, but especially those two.  You get to see every step in making a guitar.  They only have two stations that use a computerized machine.  The rest is done by hand.

When we got back I was dying to sew.  The only thing I really have going right now is my granny squares quilt, so I started busting out all of them.  I am in the process of sashing right now.  Speaking of granny squares... I won the granny squares quilt along giveaway!!!  I have never won anything.  I was so excited.  I got to choose a jelly roll of my choice.  I gave my top three choices.  Can't wait to see what comes in the mail!!!!

Hoping to finish the sashing and start work on the border tomorrow.

Thanks for visiting the blog!!!!

Quilting a-long.....

I feel like the only thing I have to show lately are granny squares.  I guess that is because that IS all I have.  I have been working on these for four days.  I have completed 19.  I think that I have 11 to go.  Here is my most updated photo

I know I keep talking about how much I love this fabric, but I really LOVE this fabric.  I think that Fandango came out before I really started to pay attention to the quality of fabric.  I will never turn back ;)

Here are my next 11 blocks!

All stacked up and ready to be chain pieced.  I think there are 189 2.5" squares stacked up right there!!!  I am going on vacation this weekend, so I don't think I will finish, but maybe next week.

Trying to think about what my next project needs to be.  Any ideas????

P.S. Lori at Adventures in Fabric is having a giveaway for hitting the 50 followers mark.  Hop over to her blog and congratulate her (all eight of you)!!!!!
